Why A1?

A1 Excavating is committed to providing excellence and quality work. We have served the tri-state area for more than 30 years and have completed over 9000 projects. Our services include excavation & grading, storm drainage, land clearing, equipment rentals, installation, excavation and repair of water and sewer lines and more. We also do 24 hour emergency service installation and repair of fire lines. Founder Sean Herring is a third generation excavator of water, sewer and fire lines. From the age of 9 years old, he watched his father and uncles as they made a name for themselves in the excavation business. It was during high school that Sean realized he wanted to continue in the family tradition. Shortly after high school he began working at the Jersey City Sewage Authority (better known as the MUA). It wasn’t long before he realized it was time to pick up the family mantle and start his own business. A short 6 years later, Sean decided to open the doors of what would become A1 Excavating and Contracting, LLC. As a native Jersey City resident, Sean understands that times are tough and works hard to help homeowners with the best price for what is often an unexpected but necessary water, sewage or fire line repair.
