A check valve is typically located in the house or property. It is a necessary apparatus to prevent water from backing into your property due to street flooding, storms and other unexpected occurrences. Ironically, while the absence of a check valve can be problematic and very costly, they are not always required by law. Some issues that can occur from not having a working check valve are: basement flooding, contamination, electrical problems, etc.
